I mentioned how one of the main things missionaries did during the pandemic's quarantine was sharing spiritual messages with local church members via phone / video call. There was a certain format the UOM wanted us to follow in these messages we shared. They had us use a document titled "The 'Ministering To All' Action Plan" (MTA for short). It was laid out like this:
- Who has not yet received the gospel?
- What will you do to help them come unto Christ?
- When will you do it?
It gave a list of actions one can do the share the gospel with others, such as "Bring up the gospel in your next conversation", "Send a gospel video, hymn, or scripture to them", "Invite them to a church activity", etc.
On the backside, it included some additional suggestions and advice, such as ways people can share the gospel on social media, and suggestions of types of people to consider sharing the gospel with. (peers w/ major life changes, etc.)
Throughout my mission, this document worked very well as a resource to use in member discussions, and some members found it very helpful for their circumstances. However, it isn't a "one size fits all" document to give everyone. In the first several weeks of my mission, Elder Lindt and I rigidly used this document in almost every church member discussion we did, which some members found very unhelpful. Lesson learned - be flexible!
